Acumed (originally named Accurate Machine and Design) was founded by Mary and Randy Huebner in 1988 in New Jersey.  The Huebners had a vision of creating a niche company, focused on trauma products and a goal to create innovative products that also improved patient care. 

At the end of 1990, the Huebners moved Acumed to Oregon and introduced its first line of arthroscopy screws, intended for repair of ACL ligaments in the knee establishing a reputation for developing innovative and quality products.

Today Acumed currently has over 90,000 square feet of manufacturing space at its world-class facility in Hillsboro, Oregon.  Acumed can also proudly call itself a global company, and currently sells products in over 40 countries around the world.

Acumed's focus has been on niche indications that are problematic, yet ignored by other larger orthopaedic companies allowing them to break new ground in fixation solutions and embracing concepts that are pushing patient results to new levels of success. 

With an established distribution network of independent representatives throughout both the United States and the world, Acumed provides not only innovative solutions, but a talented distribution force.  Trained both at Acumed and in the field, these representatives are a reliable source of support and information for surgeons around the world. 

All product design and manufacturing is conducted in our facility in Hillsboro, Oregon and Acumed are proud to produce a quality American product.  This situation also enables us to maintain the highest quality processes, meeting both domestic and international ISO standards.
